Amanda hails from Whidbey Island, a lush arts community in the Puget Sound and currently lives with her family in Fremont. She studied Library Science at the UW by day and modern dance by night. Fueled by her love for research and telling stories visually, she began working side-by-side with one of the Northwest's leading event producers and in January 2011, founded Oak & Cypress Weddings.
Amanda has quick, strong and creative instincts for innovation and problem solving and is tasked with holding the torch for Oak & Cypress Weddings. She has a delightful spirit and a willful and persistent personality, leaving no stone unturned to find just the right ‘thing’ that she’s looking for.
You’ll find her whipping up a tablescape inspired by the New York 70s art deco scene, firmly directing a team on 'Plan B' because of unexpected thunderstorms at a garden wedding, or scouting out previously undiscovered potential wedding locations near and far. Amanda’s favorite stress relievers are taking long walks in the woods with her daughter, singing old-timey country tunes her grandpa taught her and striking up interesting conversations with strangers while waiting in line for coffee.
